The reward for information about a suspected arsonist is growing, after a firefighter is injured battling the fire.
Former Tulsa firefighter and local business owner Brett Baker donated an additional $250 to the reward.
"I am proud to announce today that former Tulsa firefighter and local business owner, Brett Baker, has donated an additional $250.00 to the reward" says Miller. "I believe this reaffirms the commitment that our members have made to make certain the individual responsible for starting the fire that injured one of our brother firefighters is swiftly brought to justice."
The members of the International Association of Firefighters Local 176 offered a $1,000 reward for information on Sunday. The arson hotline has a $250 reward for information. This brings the reward total to $1,500.
James P. O'Neal, 35, was injured in the New Year's Eve fire near 4900 N. Elwood. O'Neal did not have a pulse when he was brought out of the house. Paramedics revived him and took him to the hospital.
According to Tulsa Fire Department spokesman Stan May, O'Neal is making steady improvement and was taken off the ventilator on Sunday. He remains in intensive care, though May reports they are hopeful he will be moved out of the ICU soon.
