The final campaign push is in full swing for Tulsa Mayoral candidates. Fox23 has the followed the campaign trail for both mayoral candidates over the past few months but the decision will be made after the election on Tuesday.
FOX23 was there on Friday morning with mayoral candidate Kathy Taylor cast her vote at one of the polling locations. Later that evening, Governor Mary Fallin was in town to throw her support behind the incumbent, Dewey Bartlett.
“He was able to bring back nine thousand jobs back to the city and Tulsa has some great forward momentum,” said Governor Fallin.
Prior to the Governors presentation, Bartlett stood before a full room and reiterated why he is seeking re-election.
“I’m running for economic development and job creation,” said Dewey Bartlett.
Mayoral candidate Kathy Taylor attended a few event on Friday evening including a rally for early voters. Taylor’s election manager told FOX23 that the candidate was maintain a busy schedule over the course of the next few days.
The communication director for Taylor said, “We will be busy getting out and reminding people the importance of voting. It will be a tight race and every single vote matters.”
The Governor echoed the importance of Tulsans making the effort to go to the polls.
“It doesn’t matter who you are going to vote for because the important is to get out to the polls,” said Fallin.
