Caregivers with Visiting Angels are assembling “Fight the Flu Kits” to help seniors in Green Country protect themselves from the influenza virus.
Visiting Angels is a non-medical senior home care provider.
Executive Director of Visiting Angels in Owasso, Page Cole, tells FOX23 that approximately 65 seniors that utilize the service in Green Country will receive the kits.
“During flu season there are a lot of seniors who are prone to or susceptible to getting the flu,” said Cole.
Cole says that the kits are full of supplies to help battle germs and bacteria. Hand sanitizer, Lysol spray, sanitizing wipes, Vitamin C and thermometers are just a few of the items in the kit.
Cole says that caretakers will begin delivering the kits by the end of the week. He says that the kits are delivered to seniors so that they won’t be exposed to the virus in high exposure areas.
“Hopefully by providing these kits for our clients it will just protect them a little more,” said Cole.
Cole says all 450 Visiting Angels franchises are participating in the effort.
