A federal judge has ruled against a Tulsa police officer suing the City of Tulsa and Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan.
Captain Paul Fields filed a lawsuit after being suspended for refusing to go to a law enforcement appreciation day at a local mosque. Fields also refused to order his subordinate officers to attend the event.
Fields sued saying the order was a violation of his freedom of religion. The judge’s ruling found Fields was never required to go; instead he could assign others to go in his place.
