Brian Conatzer is in a hospital bed with a shattered leg after a stolen truck hit him, said his older brother Ray Conatzer.
He said, “A guy in a stolen truck hit him (Brian) on his motorcycle.”
Ray said his younger brother only had his new motorcycle for three days.
Ray Conatzer said, “he wishes he had never gotten the bike but now what are you going to do? It is what it is.”
We were not allowed inside St. Francis hospital Sunday, but Ray stepped outside to speak with us.
He told FOX23’s Price McKeon, “The guy actually turned left where he shouldn’t have been turning left and that’s when he hit my brother.”
He said the crash threw Brian from his bike at 31st and Yale around 9 p.m. Thursday.
Ray said Brian has not left his hospital bed since.
He said, “Oh, he’s (Brian’s) mad.”
He said whoever hit his younger brother is still out there.
Ray said police told him the driver of the truck left behind a phone.
He said, “I think he’s kind of a dummy and I hope that helps the police get the guy.”
While police search, Ray will remain at St. Francis at his brother’s bedside.
He said, “It’s going be weeks, months maybe before he can even get up and walk.”
Ray said police told him the owner of the phone had a criminal history.
