Monday FOX23 heard from the family of the man killed on his motorcycle when a deer darted out in front of him this past weekend.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced Mark Robinson's death Monday morning. In an exclusive interview with his mother this afternoon, she shared the last words she told her son in a text message.
Jill Tomlinson is Mark Robinson's mother.
"My last words to him, my very last words I texted, 'Be careful.' Those were my very last words to him," she said.
FOX23 spotted flowers on North Garnett Road close to 126th Street North in the area where Robinson hit a deer. His family said his girlfriend ended up riding her motorcycle over his. Neither was wearing a helmet.
When asked if her son's girlfriend was OK, Tomlinson said, "Bless her. She's OK. She has a really nice black eye but otherwise, praises the Lord, she's OK."
On Saturday FOX23 cameras captured several deer wandering near local roadways. A hunting expert told us during mating season if you see one deer, expect to see others nearby.
"It was a deer, so to me. I have to accept that it's God's will."

Tomlinson said her son is a father of two, who are teenagers now. She explained how his daughter is dealing with the loss.
"Even after she knew there was no hope, she still wanted to stay with him throughout the next night, to just stay with him to make sure that in her arms he didn't wake up," she said.
