Gift bags, lapel pins, jigsaw puzzles, even toy footballs.

A review of federal audits by FOX23’s Scott MacFarlane found a troubling amount of tax money being squandered on “swag.”

Simple, pricey but often useless gifts handed out to federal workers when they attend government conferences.

Over the past 36 months, government workers have scooped up countless trinkets, gifts and monogrammed collectors’ items while traveling and attending meetings on the taxpayers’ dime.
