Emergency construction begins on the Creek Turnpike Thursday night

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority says emergency construction will be done on the Creek Turnpike after a bridge was hit by an oversize load.

Construction crews will begin emergency work on a Creek Turnpike bridge over Memorial Road beginning Thursday, February 28 at 8 p.m.

The work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. During the work, one lane of Memorial Road will be closed southbound under the bridge. Crews will have to temporarily close both lanes for short durations at various times during the project.

Motorists should be aware of possible closures and find alternate routes around the work. Crews anticipate having the work completed by Sunday morning.
