It’s Elebration time at the Tulsa Zoo as zoo guests celebrate all things elephant.
Guests can meet Tulsa’s very own elephant herd and learn all about these magnificent mammals with fun activities on September 8th and 9th.
Zoo guests can stop by the Helmerich Discovery Center to learn about elephants from the tip of their trunk to the bottom of their feet with fun activities. The elebration will include elephant demonstrations and the elephant yard will be decked out with enrichment for the elephants to enjoy and they’ll be getting special treats during this party fit for a pachyderm.
The Tulsa Zoo is home to three elephants, including one of the oldest elephants in the nation, Gunda. She came to Tulsa in 1954 and will be 62 years old this year. The artistic Sooky is 39 years old and enjoys spending time holding her paintbrush and creating masterpieces. Sneezy, our proud papa, became a father last spring to Oklahoma City’s baby Malee.
Tulsa Zoo’s Elebration is Sept. 8 and 9, starting at 9:30 a.m. For more information, visit
