The EMSA board of trustees unanimously voted to select American Medical Response as its contractor for the next 5-year contract.

The decision comes after an exhaustive request for proposal process that has lasted more than one year. Up for the contract are Paramedics Plus, the current paramedic provider, and American Medical Response.

The same vote also changed response times to 10 minutes, 59 seconds for life-threatening emergencies and 24 minutes, 59 seconds for nonlife-threatening emergencies.

The change is up from 8:59 and 10:59 respectively, for city of Tulsa.
