EMSA is collecting warm clothes for the upcoming months through their first H.U.G.S drive. Paramedics and EMT's will be collecting mainly hats, underwear, gloves and socks for adults and kids, but will accept any warm weather items.
EMSA EMT Brianne Smedley, said every winter they have patients who suffer from hypothermia and frostbite. The elderly and children are most prone to getting sick from cold weather. EMSA is hoping to raise enough items to donate to three shelters and equip every ambulance with some items.
