A truck driver leads police on a chase after they try to pull him over for speeding in a construction zone.

It started on I-244 near Highway 169 around 10 a.m.

According to Tulsa police, the suspect was spotted going about 75 mph in a 50 mph construction zone.  He then led police on a chase through city streets.  Officers cut off the chase near Garnett and Apache.

Shortly after, they spotted thick black smoke coming from an area near train tracks between 129th East Avenue and 145th East Avenue near Tiger Switch Road.

Police found the truck in flames.  They reported hearing gunfire in the area, but later determined it was ammunition from a pistol that was inside the pickup.

The suspect is not in custody.
