There's a dog feud brewing in Broken Arrow.
A woman says someone who's mad at her family stole her dog, and she can't get him back. FOX23's Janna Clark has the story.
Melody Dunnery says she let her 2 dogs outside to use the bathroom. And someone stole one of her dogs right out of her yard. Melody says she won't stop until she gets her dog back.
Melody Dunnery keeps a packet with her all the time.
It's all the information about her missing chocolate lab, Bailey.
Melody says someone stole him out her yard. Her other dog Gracie got away.
But Bailey had just had surgery and could barely walk.
"He's part of our family it's extremely emotional for me, I'm just frustrated," Dunnery said.
Bailey's been gone three years now, but Melody says she knows where he is and who took him.
She says her son's friends got mad at him.
"They vandalized us and robbed us," Dunnery said.
Then she says they stole Bailey.
"They blatantly admitted it to us," Dunnery said.
So she went to their house to see for herself.
"My first trip to the neighborhood, there he was," Dunnery said.
But she couldn't take Bailey without trespassing.
"I came face to face with him, but I couldn't get him because he was tied up," she said.
Melody did call Broken Arrow police and filed a report.
Police tell FOX they've been to the home several times to look for the dog but haven't seen him, so legally they can't do anything.
So Melody hired a pet detective.
She says the detective had a scent dog, and the scent dog took the detective to the people she suspect's property.
Melody says she doesn't want to cause trouble. She just wants her dog back.
"It has consumed my life for the last three years, it's very hard. I know he's just a dog but to me he's my baby," she said.
FOX23's Janna Clark and a FOX 23 photojournalist did go to the home where Melody says Bailey is.
The news crew wanted to get the other side of the story.
But no one was home, and the crew didn't see the dog.
If you know where Bailey is, call the FOX23 News desk.
