Details emerge about AA, US Airways merger

US Airways and American Airlines parent company AMR have filed the registreation statement on their planned merger with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The documents show US Airways hired advisors to study a possible merger with AA months before AA’s bankruptcy filing in November 2011.
With revenue of an estimated $39 billon the combined carrier will be called American Airlines Group and it will be the world’s largest airline by traffic.
