Deputies say 22-year-old Anthony Scott Anderson and 51-year-old Peter Wolfe busted out a window at the Delaware County Jail.
Sheriff Harlan Moore told FOX23 that by 1:40 a.m. deputies realized two inmates were missing from the jail, believed to have escaped through a window.
“At the time that they broke out, the wind chill here was 7 degrees and they did not have coats and we found no jail uniforms outside the jail. We're doing follow-ups on people they knew, people that might have visited them in the jail, people who might've called in the jail,” said Sheriff Harlan Moore of Delaware County.
The investigation quickly centered in Pryor, where multiple agencies met at the police station and narrowed their search.
Oak Street is where investigators stopped and searched Pete Wolfe, who shares a name with his inmate brother.
He was taken in for questioning, and one of Wolfe’s cousins said this isn’t a surprise to her.
“He always talked about it, he always talked about if he went back that he'd try to do it,” said Anna Meekes.
Kyle Westbrook and Meekes were in the two homes police searched on Oak Street while looking for the missing inmates.
“I told him that I don't know, I don’t know where he's at, iI don't know him that well to know where he's at,” said Westbrook.
But Westbrook and others say they do know Wolfe well enough to know the man in custody on armed robbery charges is dangerous.
