The Cherokee County Undersheriff says evidence from an investigation into the death of a pit bull has been given to the DA’s office.

Jason Chennault says the evidence was sent to them around 9:15 on Wednesday morning. The investigation stemmed from a photo of a pit bull shot with an arrow that was posted on Caisen Green’s Facebook page.

Green told investigators he shot the dog in self-defense. The post led to a number of threats against Green and his family.

Chennault also says there will be increased security for school athletic activities Green participates in.
