Crooks kidnap victim in south Tulsa robberies

A 19-year-old is held up at gunpoint and then forced to drive his captors on a crime spree.

"I was just very scared but I didn't think he was going to shoot me but I was extremely scared," said the 19-year-old.

Tulsa police arrested Jeremy Tillis and Samuel Reed, both are age 21, for two robberies near 61^st and S. Peoria Saturday night.

The trio is accused of robbing a woman, setting her up to get robbed again and then robbing a 19-year-old welding student.

The student said he was parked at R&R Food Store when he saw three men walk up to his window.

"’Hey roll down your window," said Dakota.

The victim didn’t want to disclose his full name.

He said the man with a tear drop tattoo under his eye put a gun to his head. The suspect was later identified as Jeremy Tillis.

"He pulled the gun out, put it to my head he said give me everything you have," said Dakota.

The victim said he didn’t have any money.

"They just opened my door and got in," said Dakota.

The crooks along with a 13-year-old ransacked his car and they demanded more.

"’Take me to an ATM right now and give me everything you have,’" said Dakota.

The victim said the crooks threatened to shoot him.

"I was freaking out at the time. I was having a panic attack," said Dakota. "They said 'take out $3,000 or else I am going to shoot you.' I said 'I don't have that much.' He said then '$800.' I said 'I don't have the much' and he said ‘do it,’" said Dakota.

The welding student didn’t even have $20 to give to the suspects, so the demands weren’t over.

"’Then drive me to your apartment or else I am going to shoot you,’" said Dakota.

The victim said he didn't want to get hurt so he drove them to his apartment which was about ten blocks away.

"He pretty much had the gun at my head the whole time,” said Dakota.  "Pretty much do what they told me to do. If not they could shoot me," said Dakota.

His neighbor had no idea what was going on and walked in without knowing about the robbery.

"I walk over there not even knowing what I am walking into,” said Patrick.

Then one of the crooks pulled out a gun.

"Whoa what's the pistol for?" said Patrick.

Patrick was able to walk away. The gunman and his partner hauled off with Dakota’s gold chain, watch, iPhone and $500 cash.

"They took my other roommates tv and Xbox and games,” said Dakota.  "They got what they wanted and was like ‘okay let's go.’”

The robbers forced Dakota to drop them off not far from 61st & Peoria at an apartment complex.

"I was just freaking out. I was so scared. It was just horrible,” said Dakota.

Once police were called, Dakota’s mother, who was in another state, tracked his iPhone to a location in north Tulsa.

The next day another location popped up and police arrested Tillis and Reed in North Tulsa.

The arrest report also showed five hours before Dakota’s robbery, a woman at 60^th and Peoria had her iPhone stolen. Then another man came up claiming to help her find the suspect but it was a set up. Another suspect stole her purse and wallet.

That victim was able to track her stolen iPhone to the same north Tulsa location.

Tillis and Reed are being held on more than $100,000 bond and face robbery charges.
