Highways and city streets looked better and better on Friday as plows went through, and ground temperatures have risen and melted a lot of the ice and snow.

But, overnight the chance of re-freezing worries drivers.

As temperatures plummet down into the single digits, most of the roads will be freezing back over, getting very slick and creating some treacherous patches of black ice.

Terry Starr works for FedEx and while he says things are looking great right now, he’s worried how dangerous the roads will be in the morning.

“Today, yes. Tomorrow early in the morning I hope enough people will stay at home and get out of the way. Yes, it’s going to happen. This is Oklahoma, and this is God’s way. Be safe. Please be safe driving,” he said.

Officials with The Oklahoma Department of Transportation, The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and the city of Tulsa told FOX23 crews will be out all night continuing to drop sand and salt, but they all said drivers will need to slow way down.
