Creek County crash kills woman, injures two children

One person died after a car crash in Creek County on Wednesday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the crash just after 7:30 on State Highway 33 near 401st West Avenue.

According to the report, Melissa Byard was backing out of a private driveway when another car going eastbound on State Highway 33 hit the driver’s side of Byard’s car.

The crash killed Byard and injured two children, ages 9, 12, and 16, in her car. The report shows Byard was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
