Ocean Spray is announcing a precautionary recall of its original flavor Craisins dried cranberries because they may have small metal fragments inside. The packages that are cause for concern come in 5, 10 and 48 oz. packages, as well as 10 lb. bulk packages. The metal fragments are very small, and are being called "hair like." No injuries have been reported and no other Ocean Spray products are affected by the recall. T

5 oz. Craisins UPC: 29456-000 & 29464-000. "Best by" dates (only these dates followed by the letter "M" are affected) 10/27/12 M, 10/28/12 M, 10/29/12 M

48 oz. Craisins UPC: 00678-318. "Best by" dates (only these dates followed by the letter "M" are affected) 10/27/12 M, 10/28/12 M, 11/3/12 M, 11/4/12 M, 11/5/12 M, 11/6/12 M, 11/7/12 M, 11/10/12/ M, 11/11/12 M.

10 lb. Bulk Ingredient & Foodservice UPC: 03477-000. "Best by" dates (only these dates followed by the letter "M" are affected) 10/30/13 M, 10/31/13 M, 11/1/13 M, 11/5/13 M.

If you find one of these packages, Ocean Spray says to destroy them and save the UPC label and "best by" date and contact the Consumer Hotline at 1-800-662-3262 for a replacement.
