A woman with a criminal past accused of pretending to be with a charity and conning businesses is now accused of broadening her targets.

"It seemed pretty realistic but there were some holes in it that were easy to find. She was trying to be as genuine as possible. She is actually pretty good at it and I am sure that is why she has been able to as much as she has," said Owasso’s First Baptist Pastor Brent Andrews.

Police reports in Green Country have been filed after child-related businesses came forward accusing Stroud of threatening their establishments.

Several people have contacted the FOX23 newsroom about Loreal Stroud and now she is accused of trying to use God to try and steal money.

"We want to be generous as possible. We want to share the love of Jesus as often as we can,” said Pastor Andrews.

When a new member who went by the name Lori attended Owasso’s First Baptist Church Singles luncheon church members wanted to help the woman.

"She said that her car had been broken into and that her purse had been stolen. She said she didn't have any money to pay her bills do some different things because she was in the process to stop her credit cards and gain access to her accounts,” said Andrews.

The pastor has already been warned by surrounding churches about Lori’s scam.

"When she came in I immediately recognized her. I let her tell her story, which was a lie about what she needed and how we could help her and asked how she could get involved in our church and ministries. Trying to gain that trust," said Andrews.

Court records show that same woman is Loreal Stroud, who pretended to be affiliated with Missouri based American Kid Incorporated charity.

Prison records show Stroud was convicted in 2006 out of Logan County for depositing 88 donated checks that totaled $9,624.00 into her own account that never went to that non-profit organization.

Pastor Andrews said after he let the woman tell her story he got another pastor in the room.

"We know who you are, we know what we are trying to do. We can't help you today," said Andrews.

He said she tried to talk her way out of it.

"She told us that anything we heard was not true. I told her that we have clear documentation and what we know is the truth," said Andrews.

While Stroud didn’t get any information from this church the pastor said it still hurts those who really need help.

"Not only did she take advantage of our church but our membership and our people. We want to protect that as much as possible,” said Andrews.

In May, complaints were filed against Loreal Stroud for trying to con Owasso churches. Owasso police said there wasn’t enough evidence to arrest her for trying to scam churches but she had a warrant out of Logan County for failure to pay on 2006 convictions for violating the state’s charitable Act.

Logan County District Attorney said Stroud bonded out on the condition she would make payments. She failed to appear on failure to pay her fines so a $100,000 warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Meantime, Stroud has used Special Olympics and the Muscular Dystrophy Association as charities who will benefit from children’s events hosted by Children’s Academy.

Both charities said they have not given Lori or Children’s Academy permission to use their name.

The Secretary of State’s website has Children’s Academy registered in 2006 but it has expired.

Kids Directory also said that Stroud pretended to be an ad representative for them and pocketed money for ads she sold to businesses. Kids Directory said Stroud has never worked for them.

Another business told FOX23 News Stroud said they were onto her scheme and gave her $60 just to make her go away.
