A local group is converting gas to electric, by replacing engines with batteries. Electric Thrust, a local company run by Dave Yonce, is using lithium batteries to power vehicles.
"If you take out the engine, what maintenance is left,” asked Yonce.
He’s been at it for six years, and now wants to share the wealth with everyone. He uses a video blog to document progress made on conversions. The blog shows step-by-step details, free of charge for people to convert their own vehicle.
Yonce has plans to convert a Mini Cooper and a Harley motorcycle in the next few weeks.
