There was a standing room only crowd as hundreds of people filled First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tulsa for Dr. Perry Inhofe's funeral.
The son of Sen. Jim Inhofe died Sunday when his plane crashed near Owasso.
As church bells rang, family, friends, politicians and co-workers in medical scrubs walked out of the church.
"He had fabulous big blond hair when he was little. He was so handsome," said Danna Sue Walker.
Walker remembered him as a young boy when their families were on vacation together.
"Very difficult situation," said former state Sen. Stephen Wolfe.
Wolfe worked with Sen. Inhofe in the '70s.
"Our hearts go out to the family. Utterly tragic, we just couldn't believe it," he said.
Family is something friends said they knewis important to the Inhofes.
"They were a very close-knit family and did a lot of things together as a family," she said.
Because the family is in the national spotlight, there was extra security at the funeral.
