The Community Action Project is providing free tax preparation assistance to Tulsa families and individuals who are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Any family earning less than $50,000 or individual earning less than $40,000 is eligible for the free tax services. CAP’s goal with the project is to decrease poverty and expand economic independence in Tulsa.

CAP anticipates its 2012 tax season will be very busy due to the state of the economy and to help meet demand, 10 AmeriCorps members will be helping CAP this year.

CAP’s EITC program has been replicated in more than 75 cities throughout the U.S. Last year, CAP’s program served 16,713 clients and returned more than $32 million to the Tulsa community.

To make an appointment, call (918) 382-3333. For more information on CAP’s tax preparation, call (918) 382-3200, or visit their website.

My prayers for Richard Roberts, I know no one of us are perfect, but some want to put him down, but he's only human, sometime I feel that the government put so many pressure on anybody and everybody that have any kind of money, that they cannot help it when they slip, I believe I could see the alcohol in his wife, but I guess birds of a feather flock together.. Still I believe he's a good man and he's not really affliclated with any church anymore. God help him and strengthen his family in this very troubled time. I have heard worse stories about men of God sleeping around or worse sleeping with little boys.
