City workers are preparing for more water main breaks as the temperatures drop.

The City of Tulsa says it has crews on standby Wednesday night.

They'll be ready to go to any part of the city that might have problems with water main breaks because of the cold.

The water main on 41st and Memorial has a history of breaking.

A month ago, crews were out there patching the pipe up but on Wednesday night they started replacing the pipe completely.

They started at 7:30 Wednesday morning and it will take well into the night to finish.

The city usually has someone working every hour of the day.

"We have a standby crew that comes on at a certain time. So if there are any water problems, we have a crew ready to go," said Corey McDaniel, water department equipment operator.

If you need to report a problem with a water main break call 918-596-9488.
