Early Settlement Mediation is recruiting individuals from the Tulsa community who would like to serve the court system as mediators trained to settle disputes and lawsuits.
Sponsored by the Supreme Court of Oklahoma and the City of Tulsa Municipal Court, this program handles cases including consumer/merchant, landlord/tenant, real estate, IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), neighborhood, family and divorce, child permanency and adult guardianship.
Those interested in serving as mediators may complete the attached application and submit it to Early Settlement, 600 Civic Center, Suite 108 Police-Courts Building Tulsa, OK 74103 or scan and email the application to larmstrong@cityoftulsa.org.
Completed applications must be received no later than February 12, 2013, and should be addressed to the Mediator Selection Committee. Subsequent training opportunities for Family & Divorce Mediation as well as other specialties occur periodically; however, the above-referenced training is always a pre-requisite for any other trainings.
Training is free for candidates who are selected to become mediators and who make a commitment to volunteer. The 2013 training will be held March 20, 21 & 22, 2013; participants must attend all three days of training and orientation.
