The City of Tulsa street crews continue to work on Tulsa arterial streets.
With the snowfall ending Friday morning, street crews have been able to make good progress on plowing arterial streets.
The Streets & Stormwater Dept. will remain on 24-hour operations, 12-hour shifts, to continue plowing and to treat refreezing roads or any black ice tonight.
As of noon Friday, streets crews have used 3,688 tons of salt, treating 11,316 arterial lane miles. Crews have also plowed 502 arterial lane miles.
Because of snowy weather and road conditions, Friday and Monday recycling routes will not be provided. Most refuse routes received trash service, but trash service for secondary routes or any routes that contain hills will not be provided.
Trash service that was missed on Friday will be provided on Monday and Tuesday. Monday trash customers will receive their normally scheduled service.
Customers with Friday and Monday recycling days will receive their recycling service on their next scheduled service day.
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is staffed, but there are currently no power outages or major incidents reported in the city of Tulsa. The EOC has been in contact with the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management in case assistance is needed in southeast Oklahoma from ice accumulation the southern part of the state received.
Currently, the Water & Sewer Dept. is reporting two waterline breaks. The first is an 8 in. break at 3224 W. 56th St. Crews are working at this location currently and this break is expected to be fixed this afternoon. The second waterline break is at 3434 S. Garnett Rd. Crews are at this location now and there are no reports of water outages. Garnett Rd. near this waterline break is down to one lane in both the north and south directions.
The Tulsa International Airport is not reporting any flight cancellations and most flights are back on schedule. The main runway at the airport has remained open the entire weather event. Airport ice and snow crews are still working on various taxiways and treating the runway when needed.
City Hall, City Medical, Tulsa Municipal Courts and Tulsa Parks & Recreation Centers were all open today.
