City of Tulsa Thanksgiving closings

City of Tulsa offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Public safety and mission critical operations will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the city’s 24-hour emergency number, (918) 596-9488.

Residential refuse, recycling and green waste will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 22. Customers whose regular pickup day is Thursday should set out their trash, recycling and green waste on Friday, Nov. 23, for pickup. Customers whose regular pickup day is Friday should set out their trash, recycling and green waste at the curb on Saturday, Nov. 24. For those customers that have twice-a-week trash service, the schedule will be as follows: Monday/Thursday customers will have Monday/Friday service; Tuesday/Friday customers will have Tuesday/Saturday service; and Wednesday/Saturday customers will have no change to their service days.

The City’s greenwaste disposal site, 10401 E. 56th St. North, will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22; Friday, Nov. 23; Sunday, Nov. 25, and Monday, Nov. 26. It will be open, however, on Saturday, Nov. 24. The usual schedule of the greenwaste site will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 27. In addition to wood chips, free firewood is available at the site. Tulsa utility customers may drop off yard waste free of charge.

Tulsa Parks recreation centers will be closed on Thursday and Friday, but the parks’ outdoor facilities will be accessible as usual. The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter at 3031 N. Erie Ave. will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, but will be open Friday, Nov. 23, from noon to 6 p.m., as well as on Saturday, Nov. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. The shelter will resume its usual schedule next week: closed Sunday; open Monday from noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.

Mohawk and Page Belcher golf courses will be closed on Thursday, but open on Friday.

Tulsa Zoo and Gilcrease Museum both will be open on Thursday and Friday.

The Tulsa Performing Arts Center will be closed both Thursday and Friday.

Tulsa Transit will not operate bus service on Thursday, Nov. 22. Saturday service will be provided on Friday, Nov. 23.
