On Thursday night, Tulsa City Councilors will vote on a resolution requesting crews delay the demolition of three recreation centers.
The mayor said the centers at BC Franklin, Ben Hill and Springdale parks are too costly to maintain. The city wants to build pavilions and splash pads in their place.
People near those parks have been fighting for more than a year to keep the rec centers open. The pool at Ben Hill Park has already been demolished.
Councilors will also vote the administration cancel its request for proposals for private operation and management of Ben Hill.
