The city implemented dozens of changes after the 2011 survey and this year's survey shows people appreciate those changes.

The survey shows improving city streets and overall quality of police services are the citizens' highest priorities moving forward.

Tulsans FOX23 talked to say the city of Tulsa does a pretty good job.

"From personal experience, I don't have any problem at all. I think they're doing a good job," said one Tulsan.

Another agreed, "I'm happy with the service here. I don't have any complaints."

Three-quarters of the more than 1,800 people surveyed said they were satisfied with Tulsa as a place to live.

But public safety seems to still be an issue for some.

"The pockets of crime where I don't feel so safe," one Tulsan told FOX23 Friday.

In fact, 64 percent said there are areas of the city where they don't feel safe. Less than half think there are enough police in their neighborhood.

Mayoral candidate Kathy Taylor said the results show we need more cops and better resources.

"I'd make sure that we use today's technology to prevent crime and catch criminals as other cities are doing. And I'd take a community-based approach and get citizens involved in helping police officers," she said.

Meanwhile, Dewey Bartlett
said, "(I) have a terrific relationship with the other policing organizations in and around the city and county of Tulsa: Everything from the Sheriff's Department to the U.S. Marshal to the FBI. And our collaborative approach has been very successful."

The full survey results are more than 300 pages long. If you would like to look at the results affecting your area of Tulsa, click on the FOXBOX.

Ive never found anyone who has taken these surveys, do they just do them in nursing homes? They do sound somewhat self-serving.
