A mother is in jail accused of endangering the lives of her three children.
Police arrested Angela Selders at 5th Street in Webbers’ Falls.
FOX23 went to the house in Webber’s Falls to show you just how bad it was inside the home where three children were living.
One woman is now is jail after the Muskogee County Sheriff's Offices found three children in horrible conditions at the Selders home.
FOX23 spoke with Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson.
He explained, “There was no water, no heat, roaches falling on investigators, and the children were sick.
Selders' three small children were living in filth at this home.
It was full of trash and dirty clothing.
Deputies also found an emaciated dog tied up outside.
“These kids are in some of the worst living conditions we have ever seen,” said Pearson.
Investigators say there only source of heat was a small flame coming out of the oven.
They also found meth and drug paraphernalia out in the open.
An undercover officer says drugs were even in one of the childrens' bedrooms.
FOX23 spoke with Deputy Ryan Lowe who explained, “It didn't seem to bother her that her children were in that environment.”
Selders even admitted to have snorted meth earlier that day.
She is now being held on a $25,000 bond in Muskogee County.
Deputies tell me they are glad they got there when they did.
“If we can get the children taken care of and mom on a better path, it's a win situation for us," said Lowe.
FOX23 learned the children were taken to a local hospital and are currently in protective services while DHS finds them a safe place to live.
“This is part of society we are plagued with, and the people who suffer are the kids,” said Pearson.
The Sheriff’s Office said working on cases like this that involve children are always hard but they are glad the children are safe.
