Child hit by car going to school

A 9-year-old boy on his way to school was hit by a passing driver early Wednesday morning.

T-Town a 9 yr old is fully capable of walking to school. Crossing at the light = crosswalk roulette for pedestrians after right turn on red after stop :-/ cause the driver is trying to see if they can beat the next thing coming not taking the time to are if a pedestrian is crossing. It is much safer to cross in the middle of the block. Then you can easily see what is coming.

The kid was probably not crossing at the corner or the light & most likely, given that lcation, they werent really all that visible. The ticket they incurred was probably no insurance. My guess....... As for walking to school at 9. Its pathetic we have to shelter our children and cant just let them be kids.
