Tulsa police said 9-year old Ethan Lewis died early Thursday morning.

Lewis was injured when he was hit by a car on Wednesday morning while walking to a school bus stop in the 2800 block of Mohawk Blvd. Police said the driver of the car did not appear to be doing anything wrong, but didn't see Lewis until it was too late.

There are not street lights in the area where the crash took place.

Dirty Sermon (aka unwashed mass) #8 ^]] more cost effective approach has already been effected. Change bus route to prevent the need for children to walk through areas that are less suitable for pedestrian traffic. Earlier YOU blamed the lights for too much glare. That may be too much bull. The driver usually thinks that no matter WHAT they have the 'Right of Way' on the road just because they are driving. THAT isn't always so. After that factoid there IS karma.

Most pedestrian deaths this winter have been in areas with streetlights, so maybe money would be better spent building sidewalks where kids arent standing in the road.
