UPDATE: Investigators have identified 16-month-old Emarie Jones as the victim in the auto/pedestrian fatality that occurred on Sunday night, in the area of 1500 N. Tisdale Expressway.

Police are investigating after a child was hit and killed by a dark-colored SUV after falling from another vehicle Sunday night.

Police say the 16-month-old fell out of the rear passenger door of another vehicle.

The toddler was taken to OSU Medical Center in a private vehicle where Emarie was pronounced dead.

Police believe it was due to an improperly secured car seat, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Investigators are looking for the driver of a dark colored SUV that was involved in this fatality.

FYI Karl the witness was farther away than the SUV and the witness was able to identify it as a baby... Chew on that.

Simply by not stopping. If you hit someone even if you are not liable, the police want to interview you. They want to hear what you have to say about the incident. Also by running they may (probably) view that as an indicator that you have something you are hiding from them ;) warrants no insurance no dl stolen vehicle something. If I ran something/someone over I'd check it out. Karl #8 ^]] Which side of the car did the child fall out of??

Why are they so interested in the SUV that apparently hit the kid?...that driver did nothing wrong, it would have been impossible to avoid striking what probably looked like a bag of trash in the road.

Did the child fall out of the booster seat, or did the booster seat fall out with the child?

THIS IS SO HORRIBLE! GOD, PLEASE BLESS THE CHILD THAT HAS ITS OWN! WAAAY TOO MANY SO CALLED ADULTS NOT DOING THE BASICS, LIKE SECURING THIS BABY IN HER CAR SEAT!! AND WHY WAS THIS YOUNGEST CHILD SITTING ON THE OUTSIDE?? BEING SO SMALL AND IN CARS SEAT SHE SHOULD'VE BEEN IN TJE MIDDLE, ALSO DIDN'T THE CAR HAVE CHILD PROOF LOCKS? SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS TO MULL OVER. I PRAY FOR THE FAMILY AND MAY THIS ANGEL SHINE ON ALL OF US LEFT DOWN BELOW, WE ARE ALL SO SORRY THIS HAD TO HAPPEN AND MY PRAYERS ALSO TO THE PERSON WHO STRUCK THE CHILD THRU NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN, MAY THEY FIND PEACE!
