Cherokee Nation Gift Shops are adding a new holiday item to its line of OU and OSU apparel that is logoed in the Cherokee language.
The gift shops released a pullover hoodie for sports lovers wanting to carry on their school spirit in this uniquely Cherokee way.
“People love the Cherokee collegiate apparel,” said Bill John Baker, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. “This line blends two things Cherokees are passionate about, their culture and sports. This should make holiday gift-giving a little easier.”
The hoodies feature “Oklahoma Sooners” and “Oklahoma State Cowboys” in the Cherokee syllabary and the respective school’s logo on the front. The collegiate hoodies are $45 for sizes small to XL and $47 for XXL to XXXL.
Also this holiday season, pick up other varsity wear as a gift, including Nike hats or T-shirts featuring university names in Cherokee syllabary.
The logoed apparel is officially licensed through the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University and can be purchased at the gift shop, Cherokee Nation Welcome Centers or online at
