The victim’s father drove him to a Tahlequah hospital, the victim was then transferred to a Tulsa hospital for further treatment.

Deputies and investigators said people in the area that a red Dodge four door pickup had been seen in the area around the time of the shooting.

Investigators would like to speak with the driver and possible passengers of the pickup for information related to the shooting of the deer hunter.

CCSO deputies and investigators are investigating this incident in conjunction with game wardens of the Oklahoma Wildlife Department.

Anybody with information about this incident is asked to call CCSO at (918) 456-2583 and ask to speak with Investigator James Brown or Undersheriff Jason Chennault.

It was dark at 5:00 pm. Still hunting an hour after sun down? Makes it difficult for others to properly identify you. That's why for safety you leave the woods before dark.

The victim was my brother, he has been hunting all his life. You leave the woods as it starts getting dark, right after deer are the most active and heading to bed. It wasn't completely dark yet. I'm his sister and hunt just like him. How about the "hunters" not shoot after it's dark eh? My brother was doing nothing wrong
