A day after a boy was hit and killed on Interstate 44 in West Tulsa, cellphone video from FOX23 News’ Abbie Alford caught a man dodging traffic in the same area of I-44 westbound near 24th West Avenue.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers say around 4pm on Sunday, 11-year old Christopher Seaton, was hit and killed by three trucks.

Troopers are still looking for one of the drivers who didn’t stop. Two other drivers suspected of hitting the boy are from Creek County and they stopped.

Openings in the fence line along I-44 are found that could make it easy for pedestrians to cut across the interstate.

“It definitely is not a good area to be playing in,” said Jerry Avis.

He lives nearby and catches kids around the same age cutting through his yard.

“A lot of the time I would be doing dishes and I would see them go through,” said Avis.  “I’ll holler out the back door and they will leave.”

Mr. Avis says the kids cut the fence and play in the culvert.

“They like to skateboard down there in the culvert,” said Avis.

FOX23 News is working to see who is responsible for repairing the fence.

“I’m sure they would climb the fence anyway,” said Avis.

He doesn’t know who the kids are but hopes other kids will learn what happened to Seaton will keep them away from the Interstate.

“I just worry about them getting hurt and not knowing where they live,” said Avis.

Under Title 47, it’s against the law in Oklahoma to walk or cross an interstate or Turnpike.

It’s a misdemeanor crime that can carry up to a $500 fine and jail time.

Witnesses say they saw a black pickup leave the scene. There is no tag or driver description but could have damage on the front of the truck from the accident.

If you have any information call OHP Troop B at (918) 627-0440

FOX23 News checked area public schools and Christopher Seaton was not enrolled at Tulsa, Sapulpa or Berryhill schools.
