I agree that punishment is due these teens and they should have to work to make resitution for their deeds, Let's make a comparison. I will ask the question why is punishment of 5 years each being given for hurting or killing the animals. Yet when an unborn human baby is slaughtered in the womb nothing is said, no charges are made. Hmmm.... I guess it's ok to KILL human babies, but dare you make an animal uncomfortable in any way. ( I will say that in NO WAY am I in favor of being cruel to animals). I just wonder why people rant about animals and say little or nothing about KILLING unborn or near term children.

I know both of these boys, and never would have thought they would make such an awful mistake. They do deserve to be punished, and the justice system needs to make sure they both learn from this, but saying they need to die for their mistake? That makes you just as low, if not lower than what they did. I am disturbed and discusted that they did this, but I hope I know them well enough to know there is a lot of hope that they will learn from this. I know it's crazy to imagine thinking that it was okay to do this, but teenagers make mistakes, obviously some bigger than others.

wow i think death penalty by cutting off heads for shooting cattle wich by the way was cruel and stupid and on top of that is yet another reason im have to defend my right to hunt and they should def be dealt with but as far as never changing thats a narrow and dangerous view...and i see no reason to believe killing cattle warrants believing these guys are baby killing rapist..however they should be held acountable for the monetary and psychological damage as well as the cruelty involved maybe just maybe if they are held accountable they might change most dont some do..frankly idmitch reaction of wanting to remove a humans head and people are unable to change...frightens me just as much as killing another persons property maybe lil more.....

They need to be given a fair trial, & then hung at high noon like they did back in the western days. Our justice system is so messed up no one is afraid to do anything these days.

ldmitch are you kidding me? Cut their heads off? I know Jared and am absolutely disguisted at what he has done. I am disappointed that he was so cruel-but he doesn't deserve to get his head cut off. He isn't a future rapist or murderer-he is a DUMB KID who did something unspeakably cruel and horrible. I agree with kindagreywolf they should have to learn a lesson from this-I would like to add though that they shouldn't ever be allowed to own a hunting license again.
