A carnival fundraiser is being held to raise money for a city of Tulsa worker injured in an accident with a gas line.

Robert Bower was badly injured in an accident in which a gas line ignited. Bower was working at the site and received severe burns to his upper torso, face and hands.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Bower is unlikely to return to work. Members of the AFSCME Local 1180 are working to help his family at this time by hosting a benefit.

The Carnival and Cookout will be held in Tulsa at Veteran’s Park on Sept. 28 from 4-8pm.

Organizers are inviting all City of Tulsa employees, union members, and their friends and family to participate. There will be food, games, prizes, music and raffle for several great items donated by co-sponsors of the event.

Donations can also be made to the Bower family through the Bank of Oklahoma.

Donations can be made at any Bank of Oklahoma branch:
