The Oklahoma National Guard's Employment Coordination Program is hosting a career fair Saturday at the Sand Springs Armed Forces Reserve Center.
The event is part of an effort to reduce the number of unemployed and underemployed National Guard Soldiers and Airmen.
More than 20 employers from across the state with immediate job openings are expected to participate. Registration for the event begins at 9:00 a.m. and several company representatives will take the stage to describe the employment opportunities within their respective organizations from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Members of the press will have the opportunity to interview Citizen-Soldiers and Oklahoma employers attending the Career Fair. The Oklahoma National Guard created the Employment Coordination Program earlier this year to combat high unemployment rates among Soldiers and Airmen returning from war.
