Neighbors in Midtown near 31st and Sheridan streets are worried about car break-ins.

FOX23 investigative reporter Janna Clark said it's now happened three times on the same street.

One victim said her car was parked in the street in front of her house when it was broken into. The same thing happened to her neighbor. Two trucks were broken into as well, she said.

Courtney Haxton said someone broke into her car and busted her window.

"It makes you wonder, ‘Does the thief have no conscience?’” said Haxton.

She found out when she got into her car to go to work Tuesday.

"I put the gym bag in and heard glass falling," said Haxton.

The glass is still all over the seat and floorboard. Haxton says the burglar looked through her glove box and took her purse she left in the floorboard. Her wallet's gone too.

"It makes you feel vulnerable. It makes you realize it's really easy to take things from people," said Haxton.

She said whoever stole her wallet has already tried to use her credit card.

"They tried to use that at a gas station but couldn't because they didn't know the proper ZIP code," said Haxton.

Haxton said she used to feel safe here but now not so much.

Hey Ms Haxton :-/ life is a lit better for those that maintain proper care of their possessions. Don't leave your stuff in the road. Take it inside with you. I would say put it in the trunk but so many vehicles have the trunk available from a switch beside the drivers seat.

That part of town was decent for many years until the bleeding hearts got the ugly element free housing in the, like most of the city, it's a permanent victim of thugs, most of which are of the African persuasion.
