3rd Graders at Eliot Elementary sold hundreds of shirts that read, "Buy Local, Save Jobs."  For $6/shirt, anyone who wore one Tuesday afternoon in Brookside received at 10% discount at most shops and restaurants.

The students behind the idea say, after they learned about sales tax and the shortage of sales tax revenue in Tulsa, they wanted to do something about it.  So, they organized an afternoon push to get customers out to buy local.

Store owners were grateful for the support and say they hope Tuesday afternoon's business helps remind people to keep coming back.

Yeah, and take a look at how many items at "EVERYONE'S PLACE TO SHOP" come from China. Didn't they get their start in promoting, "MADE IN AMERICA" products? Now, maybe they can promote HIRING AMERICAN CITIZENS, INSTEAD OF ILLEGALS, and keeping that money in this country instead of being sent back across the border. That is money that could be spent here in the U.S.A. which would help OUR economy. If only our politicians were as concerned and intelligent as these kids.

Just make sure you cross Zebco off your "local" list. All of their products are now made in China.
