Police bust a burglary ring and they have an alert neighbor to thank.

Two suspects are accused of breaking into at least ten midtown homes.

Police arrested Michael Meeks, 22, and Ashleigh Means, 21, who are suspected of breaking into homes in the area of Interstate 44 and 15th Street and between Riverside and Sheridan.

A mother put up signs listing her stolen items and talked with neighbors about thieves breaking into their home.

She learned she wasn’t the only victim and found out what the suspect vehicle looked like.

A few days after her home was broken into, the victim and her daughter noticed a maroon SUV with a missing driver’s side window in their neighborhood.

"I said get a picture of it,” said the victim.

She wants to use only her first name, Dody. She said a neighbor had seen a similar car around the time of the burglaries.

"People do pay attention. They do pay attention to what goes on around here,” said Dody.

She believes the driver was the suspect, Ashleigh Means, who had broken into her house earlier that week and stole her treasures.

"It was an earring from a friend who passed” said Dody.

Computers, toys and clothes were also stolen.

"We were kind of like Wal-Mart and a jewelry store,” said the victim.

Dody said she eventually caught up with Means and flagged her down. The suspect claimed she was lost and had two kids in the back seat.

"I just stopped her and asked her where she was staying,” said Dody.

She said Means told her she was staying at the Trade Winds Inn.

Dody didn’t feel safe confronting her in front of children so she went home and dropped off her own child.

She went to the hotel and saw Means and another suspect who was hauling computers and other loot out of the hotel.

Officers arrived ten minutes later. They found Dody’s stuff and items stolen from at least ten other victims.

"These people were so active within a short amount of time,” said burglary Sergeant Shellie Wood. "They are very busy."

Police said the pair were known for fraud and forgery.

The victim said she wanted the suspects caught, but, more, she hoped the suspects would learn their lesson.

"I want justice, I want righteousness and I want mercy. People are more important than things,” said Dody.

Records show Means has been officially charged with burglary and stolen property and has bonded out of jail. Meeks is still in jail.

Many neighbors are sharing information on Facebook.

Michael Keith Meeks was not arrested at the tradeewinds central motel, he was actually arrested a week later on a traffic stop, a warrant for an unpaid traffic ticket was the reaseon, however, the ticket was issued in 1999, he was only nine years old at the time. the record for fraud and forgery, belongs to another michael keith meeks, several years older. Teh man arrested with Ms. Means is named Carl, however, we can find no reported arrest, yet Dody saw him and Ms. Means arrested. He was the mastermind and his car was the one used in the commission of these crimes Ashleigh Means, and "Carl" were arrested. Michael Meeks and Trinity Baker were arrested a week later, at different locations and charged with these same crimes. Michael has no past history of fraud...I know because I am his mom. Ashleigh Means had my grandchildren with her and now they are in my care. My heart goes out to all of the victims of these crimes and I pray for all of you. Inaccurate news reports are damning to people and I wish the news report here was accurate, the Michael Meeks with a past history of forgery and fraud is several years older than my son. My child has already spent time for a wrongful conviction when he was 17 that was dismissed three years later, He has just, in May, graduated from CASA, Christians Against Drug Abuse, where he was in residence for a year in a Pentecostal discipleship program. He had just recently reunited with Ashleigh and his children, now I don't know what happened out there, but I do know the news report is dead wrong..I do Know Ashleigh was there, I don't doubt the witness, but my son was not in the car and he was not at the motel where they were arrested, he was arrested a week later and his car is an Orange Isuzu Rodeo, Trinity Baker and Carl, the other perpetrators aren't even mentioned and it was his car they were driving...Lots of questions False reports are damning and not fair to those you have damaged.

The man arrested with Ashleigh Means at the Tradewinds Central Motel is named Carl and has never been mentioned in the report or the arrests. He is the police informant that set everything in motion...You see, he is allowed to commit any crime he wants as long as he tells on all who were involved and he is the ring leader, yet he is never mentioned in any of the reports and though he was arrested,he "went out the back door" as soon as he got to jail, with the help of Tulsa PD...nice huh? He'll probably strike your neighborhood again, as he probably also has his maroon SUV back.
