The Rogers County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman after she allegedly broke into a home and said Garth Brooks gave it to her.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 21 in Owasso. Police responded to a burglary alarm and found a white car in the driveway that belonged to Jennifer Pepper of Claremore.
According to the arrest report, the homeowner came home and saw the vehicle in the driveway and said the house is for sale and the woman who drove the vehicle had been to the house earlier in the day and wanted to look at the house.
He told deputies the woman looked around the house for an hour and then told him she bought it. He told her she did not buy it because he was the homeowner. He said she left the house and he realized a key to the house was missing.
Deputies were approached by a neighbor, who stated he saw the woman pull up a "for sale" sign and enter the residence approximately 15 minutes before the deputy's arrival.
Deputies contacted the Owasso Police Department for assistance and they entered the house with the deputies and found Pepper in the house. A deputy instructed her to lie on the ground and she refused.
She was detained and taken to a deputy's vehicle. She told deputies her name and said that country star Garth Brooks gave her the house.
When asked if she had any paperwork on the house, she said no and then refused to answer further questions.
Deputies checked the house for damage and then returned the key to the owner. Pepper was booked on a complaint of burglary.
