A grocery store was broken into early this morning at 11th and Garnett. Due to recent break-ins, Police were actually watching the area and caught 24-year-old Robert Conklin break in and then try and run away.

The sergeant said Conklin got into the store by throwing a rock through one of the glass doors. Officers held him at gunpoint until backup arrived. He was treated by EMSA for a few cuts from glass and then taken to jail. Conklin is being held on two counts of 2nd degree burglary.

Some of the stolen items were charity donation jars with kids' pictures on them.

The grocery store is actually right next to the Subway that was hit 5 times a few months ago.

If he's that stupid he needs to be on a chain gang. How could he not see the police watching the scene. Even if you don't see them you will hear the engine on their car. Stealing donations meant for little children. Enjoy your new husband in prison.
