The City of Broken Arrow is prepared for the winter weather that could hit the area Monday evening.
City crews will be at work in preparation for late Monday night or early morning snow and/or ice precipitation. Pretreating of bridges, overpasses and streets will begin approximately 2 hours before road conditions begin to freeze.
“Our crews always do a fantastic job of clearing the streets during winter weather,” said Broken Arrow Mayor Craig Thurmond. “They are prepared for whatever winter weather comes our way this evening and will go above and beyond to keep the roads clear.”
The city has a stockpile of sand and salt available and trucks have been thoroughly equipped to handle the winter storm. The city has 2000 tons of sand and 700 tons of salt on site to handle this storm and enough supplies at least for 3 additional significant storms.
