Main Street in Broken Arrow is continuing to get a makeover.
FOX23 found out several new businesses and homes are in the works for the Rose District.
New retail space, a restaurant and apartments are coming to Broken Arrow's Main Street in an effort to bring more economic growth to the area.
A site placed right on Main Street in the newly developed city of Broken Arrow will soon be known as District 2-22.
This site will house a restaurant, retail space and 10 apartments units.
This will be the first time living space has been created in Broken Arrow's newly renovated Rose District.
The Broken Arrow Economic Development Corporation said it plans to use "TIF" funds to help support the private owner.
They've negotiated a $300-thousand incentive package.
Economic Development officials said this project is unique, and because the owner is taking a risk, it wants to reward him.
"We've tried to encourage that type of development here over the last 18 months as the Rose District has unfolded. Because we know that we need to increase the density of residents around here to help keep our Rose District merchants thriving," said Wes Smithwick, the president and CEO of Broken Arrow's Economic Development Corporation.
FOX23 will keep you updated on the continuing developments in the Rose District and all around the Broken Arrow community.
