As a matter of fact, with Oklahoma being comprised of so many indians, the Politicians that have entered this debate, might want to rethink who is really in charge of they're re-election.......

I think there are more voices that haven't been heard than people relize. Remember this Oklahoma. Broken Arrow, home of the Red Man. Who do you think named it, the city you live in. If you missed it in History class, this was all Indian land at one time. As a matter of fact it was given to the Indians by the Government. Have you ever heard of the Indian removal act. That is where the Indians were savagely killed on land that was clearly there home and the one's that actually survived the massacre were rounded up imprisoned. starved and if that wasn't enough they were made to walk thousands of miles in the dead of winter, where thousands more parished. (AKA Trail of Tears.......) If you want to educate yourself with a good book, try reading 'Burry My Heart At Wounded Knee' it may just enlighten you, but I doubt it.The Federal Government layed in place several laws to help the indians recover from such detriment. This is an example of one of them. I'll bet if they had announced there would be a golf course going in next to the casino, the opposition #'s would have severly dropped off.... I'll bet at this point you must think i'm Indian. Nope sorry just a man that can see the world through open eye's. I'm sure there are thousands of unheard voices, and yes many of them indians. The responses I receive may just inspire me to lead this endeaver. A white Chief. That would be a switch......

Cherokee Casino or Hard Rock which it is known as now is directly across from the Highschool and right down the street from a two elementry schools and you didn't hear the residents of Catoosa outraged. As a matter of fact that Casino is the best thing that happend to that town. Businesses are flourishing now. I think we are mainly hearing the voices of the neighborhood just north of the proposed site.

We'll be following up today looking at criticisms of the proposed casino and if the claims are factual or not.

The Kialegee Tribal Tribe does not have legal jurisdiction over the land in BA or anywhere in Tulsa Co. The Muscogee (Creek) Nation has jurisdiction over the land and they do not want the casino in BA to be built and filed a lawsuit to stop it. The National Indian Gaming Commission is currently reviewing this matter but has not issued a decision on it yet. Without a gaming license for Class III gaming for the casino, they cannot operate one. There are enough legal reasons to stop this casino, in addition to the problems a casino would bring to the BA community and nearby neighborhoods and schools. The Kialegee tribe should find a community in its own jurisdiction (3 counties: Okfuskee, McIntosh, and Hughes)--one that actually wants a casino in its town. It'd would be really awesome if you guys would do some real journalism instead of playing up the hate and the bigotry and using 10 year old kids to push a Indian Casinos are bad theme. I saw the signs on your news cast last night showing "Gaming= drunk drivers and crime" etc etc. How about you do the responsible thing and do a story on the fact that is a stereotype and the good things casinos such as the Hard Rock does for the community.
