Friday was “Take Your Employees” to lunch in Broken Arrow to help business owners who took a financial hit during the recent water emergency in Broken Arrow.

Bartender Ben Bush is happy to be back behind the bar.

“Being shut down for any amount of time does hurt us for the tips that we make,” said Bush.

Main Street Tavern was closed for over 40 hours due to the water emergency in the city. Friday was the first time the restaurant was open for lunch.

"I'm counting on a big day today and tomorrow to make up for having those couple days lost,” he said.

Tommy Cores took a break from his work day to grab a bite to eat.

“Working with one of my associates and he suggested we come here,” said Cores.

Even though he said he didn't know it was ‘Take your employees to lunch day’ he was happy to support local business.

"It's a great idea, people don't' need to be scared about what happened, keep supporting the local bars and restaurants, everything that we can do,” he said.
