The Broken Arrow Public Schools Homecoming Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday evening. 47 entrants are scheduled to march in the parade. Organizers told FOX23 that the route will be changed slightly this year due to construction in the Rose District.

“It will be beautiful when it is complete but we had to adjust our parade route just a little,” said the Executive Director of the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, Mark Frie.

Frie said that in the past the route was run from north to south. The decision was made in the summer to reverse the parade route.

The parade will begin at the Broken Arrow Community Center and will end at the Farmers Markets.  A pep rally and introduction of the Homecoming Court will follow.
Frie told FOX23 that the Homecoming Parade is a community tradition and the construction is a reminder of growth.

“Sometimes you change and it ends up being even better so we don’t know, we may keep it this way or we may reevaluate.”
